When you come to know Christ, you gain a new motivation for living. Your interests begin to change from yourself to others -- from the things of the world to the things of God. The Bible describes this process as “putting off the old man, and putting on the new man" (Ephesians 4:22-24). Here are some things we can count when we become a Christian:
New Destination - As a Christian, I experience a new life and look forward to eternity in heaven. This gives me hope for the present and the future, and so much to be thankful for.
New Priorities - Christians have new priorities. Success, popularity, and fun are still important to me, but they are not the most important things. Because I'm trying to live God's way, I am no longer the most important person in my life.
New Battles - Some people make out that being a Christian is all totally wonderful. It is wonderful and definitely worth it, but it isn't easy all the time. There are tough times that I will have to face. People won’t always understand me. I may even experience hardship and suffering because of my relationship with Jesus. ...more... 1 2 3 |
